Pleione bulbocodiodes 'Christine Grey-Wilson'

Introduced in the 1980’s from Yunnan by the well-known plantsman and botanist Chris Grey-Wilson and named after his wife. Flowers of excellent shape and substance, rose-purple with the lip heavily spotted in red. Stock was passed Butterfield’s nursery from where Rainer Kretz obtained it and distributed it more widely. Ian regarded this as a form of Pln. x Taliensis but this is yet to be confirmed. A rare pedigree Pleione!
