A Butterfield cross using the outstanding ‘Egret’ with the purple spotted form of Pln. grandiflora. Due to genes shared by both crosses, this selection is similar to Samuel Butterfield ‘Blue Tit’ with perhaps a slightly better flower shape. To avoid confusion with ‘Blue Tit, Ian never sold this clone and eventually passed his small unnamed stock over to Rainer Kretz who had noticed its potential. Rainer realized that this hybrid had already been registered as Indri by Paul Cumbleton using the common forms of both parents. It is an example of how hybrids can show very different results depending on the clonal selections used.
