This formed part of the second generation of Ian Butterfield’s attempts at creating an orange-red Pleione following the initial break-through represented by Keith Rattray ‘Kelty’. ‘Bald Eagle’ is one of the top clones from that early orange/red breeding line and it forms a vital link to today’s sensational red hybrids like Michael Butterfield and Red Colobus.
