Pleione maculata
A real little gem! Distributed from Nepal across to Vietnam, this charming plant has intensely coloured small flowers above green pseudobulbs. The flower colour is a creamy-white, the petals are streaked with purple and the white lip is covered with yellow and heavily blotched with deep purple. This attractive form of the species originates from Ian Butterfield and providing it is kept warm, is relatively easy to grow.
