Reputedly of Burmese extraction, this plant is different from the usual Himalayan praecox. Although superficially similar, the flowers have more substance and a better, less floppy, shape. The greatest difference is perhaps in the bulbs themselves, which in Himalayan praecox are turbinate and beaked but in this form are flat and very attractive in their own right. I find this clone much easier to grow than the usual Himalayan praecox.
