This cross features the extremely rare pale-purple Pln. coronaria as a parent together with the yellow-lipped Soufriere. In this clone the pale yellow flower colour, ultimately inherited from Pln. forrestii, is overlaid with a bishops-purple hue, the lip fringed and spotted in rust-red. An interesting colour combination that is unusual amongst hybrids.
